I spent $300 on the previous version, Oculus Go. Used it after I bought it. It was very slow and got very hot if you use it for 5 mins. And 64G space gone after a few downloads.
Next time I try to use it, told me I mus switch to FB account to use it. The third time I tried to use it, it was dead (won't bootup anymore). Hardware issue. Out of warranty.

I personally think apple tags are useless for all practical purposes. It is at best works if it is in the same room as your phone. You move to a different location with as minimum as with 2-3 walls it does not work. Translation is dependent on having the latest or if not near latest IOS version. so if your phone is older then getting the latest buds is a waste as they will not work.
